What were your goals for Wellness By Sav’s Integrative Nutrition and Wellness Coaching 3 Month Program?
“Starting this journey, my top goals were to:
o Lose weight
o Increase my exercise routines from 0-1/wk to 3-4/wk
o Make my exercise goals fit my lifestyle
o Decrease or fall back on my sugar intake
o Cook more for myself to incorporate healthier meals ”
How did you work towards your goals?
“Sav really helped me start reaching these goals by focusing on smaller changes to reflect the progress I was making. At the beginning of the program, I had an unrealistic expectation that I’d be 15 lbs lighter, a healthy whiz in the kitchen, and always making the best healthiest choices for myself. Working with Sav, she really helped me learn that it’s not necessarily about the end outcome but the journey and the habits I learn getting there. She introduced me into so many ways I can explore living a more healthy and whole lifestyle by introducing me into yoga (which I’ve come to love and I never thought I’d say that), introducing the benefits of a Mediterranean diet and how to incorporate that into my day-to day food choices, and a few sugar detoxes to help reset my palette and satisfy my sugar craving from veggies instead of traditional sweets.”
What lasting changes did you noticed during and since your 3 month program?
“My overall mindset towards what healthy and fit means and looks like to me. Before, I’ve tried so many programs to just lose the weight and hit my “number” but the weight always creeps back up on me because I haven’t had the right outlook on it.
Sav helped me realize that health and wellness will look different for each person and for me, it means being able to go on walks with my mom and grandma 1-2x/week, enjoying my exercise that fits into my life, and cooking foods that I’m not only excited about but foods that make me feel good from the inside out. My most favorite thing to do now is cooking a dish that I’m not only proud of because it came out so yummy, but it was also nutritional!
Working with Sav, I think the most significant change I’ve noticed is I have a better sense of balance in my life. ”
What’s the most tangible change you’ve noticed since working with Sav?
“Working with Sav, she helped me realize how much I hate the gym and that I don’t need to be in a gym to be exercising. She helped me find forms of exercise that I thoroughly enjoy and look forward too – like doing yoga, hiking, and running. All of these things are things I’m excited to do in the morning and I don’t dread the idea of doing them a quarter as much as I did when going to the gym.”
